If you live in or around the Swan area you’ve probably seen, or heard the well-known “Greensleeves” music from the “Joey” Ice-cream Vans. Glen Wareing, his wife Mel and their 3 children have been operating ice-cream vans for over 20 years and are all actively involved in the community. Together they started with one humble old ice-cream van in the mid 1990’s when the Mr Whippy industry was on its last legs, over the following decades they revived the iconic mobile icecream van business back to its former heyday. Present day they own Perth’s biggest fleet of icecreams vans that you’ll see not only working on the suburban streets or Perth, but also attending most major events & venues including Motorplex, WAFL Footy, Optus Stadium, Wanneroo raceway and many more.
Over the years of living and working locally Glen and Mel have recognised the Swan Valley needed something new and exciting. Never afraid of hard work and new challenges, Glen had a vision to create a fun enjoyable venue to cater for young and old with a theme of past eras burger diner experience done in a modern way. “Joey’s Swan Valley Diner” hopes to cater for not only the ever growing Swan Valley Community and beyond, but also for people travelling along Great Northern Highway. You can’t miss the retro looking pink and white “Joey’s Swan Valley Diner”, very conveniently located in front of the well-known Swan Valley Sporting Club.
If you’re in a rush, drive through and grab a coffee and snack or if time is not an issue grab a burger and dine alfresco in the gorgeous outdoor area, complete with play area for the kids and a unique setting around a fire. If you’re stressed, blessed and coffee obsessed, then Espresso Yourself with a drive through coffee- we use locally owned Crema Coffee.
Our icecream background ensures you can top of the great eating experience with yummy soft serve icecreams, slushies and milk shakes which will surely be popular on weekend afternoon drives.
